A CPNRE Study Plan for Nurses Working Shifts
A repeatable study routine for candidates balancing clinical shifts and exam preparation.
A useful plan fits around real shifts: brief concept review on busy days, question practice on lighter days and a weekly review of errors.
Start here
Start by confirming your regulator’s exam pathway and reading the current blueprint. Then take a baseline set of mixed questions. Record which competencies are weak rather than treating the raw score as a prediction.
What to do next
On workdays, try a short cycle: one concept, a small question set and a written explanation of two errors. On days off, complete a longer mixed block and review the rationales. Protect recovery time after demanding shifts.
Prepare with a plan
Each weekend, check whether your error log shows improvement. If you repeatedly miss a theme, return to a trusted nursing reference and practise new cases before doing another full mock.
